Comparing Decimals and Fractions Through Pet Adoption

Grade level: 4th & 5th

Use the math behind our furry friends to help make decimals and fractions add up for your students. There’s also several opportunities to bring computer science into this lesson.

Learning Objectives

  • Compare two decimals and/or fractions

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and/or fractions to the hundredths place

  • Build knowledge of block coding through Scratch programming and how it connects to the word problem
