LESSON PLAN

Photos & Angles

Grade level: 4th

We’re proud of this lesson that makes an inspired connection between geometry and photography. Photography is an incredibly accessible activity and will help bring geometry off the page and into the real world for learners.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify and draw angles as right, acute, or obtuse along with points, lines, line segments, and rays.

  • Classify 2D images based on the presence or absence of parallel or perpendicular lines, or the type of angles the image has (right, acute, obtuse).

  • Build knowledge of block coding through Scratch programming and how it connects to the word problem.

Fatima says:

When you look at a pic do you ever think where was this taken from? How did they take it?  WHY DID THEY TAKE IT??? I learned about the first two, still working on the last one.
